Commercial Cleaner

  • Work Schedule: Part-time, evening hours (Friday - Sunday, 7pm - 10pm)

Who We’re Looking for

At Shelburne Farms, we host many on-site programs and services and are looking for a commercial cleaner as we wrap up each event and prepare for visitors the next day. We’re on a mission to inspire and cultivate learning for a sustainable future through our historic campus and living classroom, and look to you to help us foster a place of learning by cleaning and clearing our events space, common areas, kitchen and restrooms.

What You’ll Do

  • Working quickly and efficiently, you’ll clean all common spaces at the Farm Barn, which includes:

    • Breakdown event tables, chairs, and any other items after an event to clear the space.
    • Remove rubbish, recyclable materials, and compost.
    • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
    • Sanitize and dust all surfaces.
    • Clean and disinfect restrooms and eating areas.
    • Take inventory of and alert managers if low on cleaning supplies.
    • Learning and following proper care of special woodwork and floors.

Core Qualifications

Equivalent education/experience can substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

  • Commercial or residential cleaning experience.
  • Ability to work the required hours outlined above.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Seasonally demanding work schedule
  • Ability to be physically active for extended periods of time
  • Indoor spaces lack conventional heating and cooling
  • Ability to lift, squat, bend and carry up to 40 pounds unassisted.
