About The Seacoast Irish Festival

After a five-year hiatus, the Seacoast Irish Festival made its return in 2010 as the Biggest Little Irish Festival in the World! The Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with Dover Main Street once again to bring you the 2011 Seacoast Irish Festival in the Rotary Arts Pavilion in downtown Dover, NH. The Seacoast Irish Festival Committee is ready to outdo last year's event on September 10, 2011 with more acts and more entertainment than ever. Despite some damp weather, last year’s newly revived event drew over 1500 attendees to downtown Dover to enjoy a day packed full of music and dance, food, drink and cheer.

Seacoast Irish Festival HistoryThe Festival Committee has been working on 2011 plans since December, and has assembled an entertainment lineup that combines traditional Irish music, dancing and storytelling. This year’s Festival will also serve as a tribute to one of the Festival’s “Founding Fathers,” renowned local musician Eugene Byrne, who passed away this spring. Eugene left an indelible mark on the Festival, the community, and on Irish music, and the Festival Committee, including friend and fellow performer Kim Starling of Bradigan, is dedicating this year’s Festival to Eugene’s memory.

Seacoast Irish Festival HistoryWhile the performance schedule is still being finalized, confirmed performers include Bradigan, Patsy Whelan, McTeggarts, Schooner Fare and many other special guests.

Proceeds from the event support the Chamber’s and Main Street’s economic and business development programs, which are critical to keeping Dover’s economy strong and preserving its quality of life.
